SMP won't repeat a file

Describe the bug
Set any file to be repeated (looped=inf) but it won't. Upon reaching its end it stops.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Download any short file, 10-15 seconds tops.
2. Set SMP to repeat that file (I prefer using key "R") and keep watching until the end. File stops, instead of being repeated.

Expected behavior
Setting a file to be repeated (inf) should repeat it infinite number of times.

• OS: Arch Linux
• Multimedia engine you're using with SMPlayer (preferences -> general):

(I removed the full path to the file and left only the file name, if you don't mind; I have a reason for that)

Additional context
I'm 100% sure it's SMP problem bc:
• mplayer repeats files just fine
• mpv on its own (ran via terminal outside of smplayer) repeats files just fine.
That leaves the problem to be in smplayer itself.

Anyway try adding --loop=inf in preferences -> advanced -> mplayer/mpv -> options.

I tried everything I could find on the internet - including that! It still wouldn't repeat any file.
Can you tell me which build you're using? The latest or a specific one?

Edit: I downloaded the release from 2 days ago and it seems to have fixed that. But it still stops repeating for some files, which I would suggest means the file is in the wrong format (extension) than it really is. I think it's a good idea to add some kind of function to check for the real format against the extension and if they're different, to display a warning about that.
