cannot make shain 2016 cl4cl and quickstart targets #4

Hi, I'm a student planning to use modelblocks as part of my master's thesis, specifically to calculate the features from the shain et al. 2016 cl4cl paper as well as emdedding difference on my own corpora. I have access to penn treebank 2, not 3. But I only want to use the wsj parts which should be identical to my knowledge (though the directory structure is slightly different, for which i altered the treebank makefile.)
However when I try to make any of the targets from shain 2016 cl4cl, it says there's no rule to make the target. I do not run into this issue when i try to make the target from the quickstart file, though that one does get killed partway through training too.
I run wsl on windows 11.
