UI improvements - Misleading Chevron

Chevron to the left of "Segments to export" looks like "expansion button" - not as the "hide button" - I think it should be replaced with Hamburger UI

Besides that - I would start with Ux that mimicks the QuickTime trim feature as basic mode then allow to switch to Pro mode - spend whole 5 minutes on this software and still haven't figure out how to export particular singular segment;)

why does a hamburger icon better represent a "hide" button than a chevron? usually hamburger is for showing a menu?

Is it the Markers that are confusing? maybe in simple mode we should create segments instead of markers when clicking + button.

The "Segments to export" sidebar could be considered a menu, couldn't it? The right chevron represents hiding the sidebar, and its opposite is the left chevron that appears after the sidebar is hidden, which represents unhiding the sidebar. But the left chevron is "outside" the sidebar and appears at the bottom of the screen, while the right chevron is inside the menu and appears at the top, so I can see why this might be confusing to Pawel. Plus, a right chevron to the left of a heading is often used to represent something expandable, like Pawel says - for example, Google Docs' pageless view uses this:
