Cannot install Epic Games Launcher in Bottles

The app says:

Checks failed, the program is not installed

and in the terminal:

During checks, file /home/william/.var/app/com.usebottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/Epic-Games-Launcher/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Launcher/Portal/Binaries/Win32/EpicGamesLauncher.exe was not found, assuming it is not installed. Aborting.
I already tried several times, with latest Wine or Soda, with the .msi installer downloaded from their website too.

I can confirm that this is a persistent issue. Terminal output is as follows:

I have found the way. If you've been using your distribution's package, try the Flatpak version instead. That seems to have solved the problem for me.

It should work fine if you're using the Flatpak version of Bottles. What distribution? I tested on Fedora 43 and it works straight away without having to fuss around with anything. Create Bottle (game Bottle), install EGS and go. That's all I did.

  And then reopen Bottles and reinstall Epic Games Launcher.

my bottles config has the riched20 dep and the install still fails on the same installer checks step. I'm on Ubuntu 25.10.

snap or flatpak
