Inclusion in the standard kicad footprint library

What about submitting the footprint for inclusion in the standard kicad footprint library?

Also, can you add a license?

This probably can't be done without violating the terms of the KiCad footprint library licensing requirements (as stated) as the original source of the banana vector is Vecteezy which has some pretty severe restrictions on use of their artwork.

Vecteezy has a "licensing chart" that lists restrictions on their "free" license on their vector art, which include up to 50 copies, a $1000 budget, 10000 views, 50 digital sales, etc.

The 3D model from Turbosquid has equally scary language, though I'm not sure if it applies to this particular model as it's presumably free. I'm also having trouble finding the vector art on Vecteezy and the 3D model file on Turbosquid, so I'm extrapolating a bit.

I doubt KiCad would find the licensing terms for either the vector art or the 3D model file acceptable. If they did accept it, this would likely expose them to a litigation risk from Vecteezy and Turbosquid.

Considering the license restrictions, I would suggest closing this issue.

That being said, one could replace both the vector art and 3D model file with something free/libre and then try to push to the KiCad main branch. Here is a list of public domain/CC0 licensed banana vector art. The Noun Project is also a good resource for 2D vector art. Here is a CC-BY-SA banana on Thingiverse.
