Release 6.1.1-RC2 not working on linux

Debian linux.
RC2 with Firebird 5.0.3 - builds with both php 8.4 and php 8.5, but make test skips all tests with reason: : cannot connect.
The library loads in PHP and shows in phpinfo(), but an attempt to connect to a database ends with "Invalid clumplet buffer structure: buffer end before end of clumplet - clumplet too long (39)" (this is with php 8.5, didn't test with 8.4).

RC1 builds on the same machines for both 8.4 and 8.5, 50 tests are passing and seems to work OK.

Thanks! Will take a look. Meanwhile please try using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost and see if this works?

Nothing works - the actual hostname, localhost, 127.0.0.1, only the file name for a local / embedded connection - all produce the same error.
