Would it be possible to update TWiLight Menu++ and NDS bootstrap on a DSi via Wi-Fi?

I think it would be a great feature to have a "check for updates" button in the program's settings menu. That way, people who are traveling or somewhere else could update the software without having to rely on a computer.

Hm, I mean the DS/DSi download suuuuuper slow (If I remember correctly).

Plus the whole un.zipping/extracting and replacing the files thingy, but I could be making up worries on the ladder part.

Now for anything newer, the update feature COULD maybe be implemented.

Twilight Menu isn't that big. Uncompressed (assuming that's even necessary, see next paragraph), the latest DSi download is 43MB. I couldn't find numbers for how slow the DSi is, but it's at least fast enough to update its own firmware and to install DSiWare in a reasonable amount of time. Even asuming a very slow 256KB/s, it would only take about three minutes to download that 43MB update, which I'd still consider much more convenient than using a PC.

I'm pretty sure there's already DS(i) homebrew out there that deals with ZIP files, but even if that's a problem, the downloads could simply be made into uncompressed tarballs.

As for newer hardware (ie. the 3DS), they already have Universal Updater, so they have no need for this feature.

That's why I'm asking if it would be possible to perform the update directly on the DSi, because it doesn't seem like a crazy idea or anything like that.
